Finding alternate / substitute products and add-ons is now easier than ever.
- An ‘Alt. Item’ tab has been added to the Master form which allows users to designate alternate or substitute parts for the listed master number.
- The Find Product grid on quotes, orders and help desk forms includes a Suggested Items checkbox, allowing users to view items / parts commonly sold with selected quote /order items.
Set up an alternate item for an existing Master:
- Open an existing Master form.
- Click on the Alt. Items tab.
- Click the ADD button on the Alternate Items grid.
- In the pop-up window that appears, use the search fields to find the Master you wish to use as an alternate or substitute item. Note: An alternate item must already be assigned a Master part number within Q360. To add a new inventory item as a Master, see Create a Master Part Number
- Click the Find Master button to populate the Parts grid with suitable options. Highlight an item on the Parts grid and click the SELECT button to add this part to the list of Alternate items for your designated Master. The item will now appear on the Alternate Items grid on the Alt. Items tab for your Master. The item will also appear in the Suggested Parts grid if you search for Suggested parts from a quote or order per the instructions below. Alternate items will appear as green lines and always at the top of the Suggested Parts grid.
Find suggested add-on items from a Quote:
- From a Customer form, click on the Quotes / Quick Lists tab (or open an existing quote and skip to Step 3).
- In the Quotes grid, click the ADD button to start a new quote. An Add Quote form will open.
- Open the Line Items tab. Click on the Find Product tab (left).
- Fill in search field and click the Search icon or press Enter key.
- Click the ADD button next to an item to add it to the quote.
- To find suggested add-on items (commonly sold with the quoted items), highlight an item in the Quote Line Items grid and click the Advanced Search button on the Find Products tab.
- Click the Suggested checkbox. The Parts grid will refresh and show suggested items typically purchased with the highlighted item in order of most commonly purchased to least commonly purchased with said item.
- Enter EDIT mode and click the ADD button next to a part to add it to the quote.
- Click the SAVE button.
Note: Green items in the refreshed Parts grid are designated alternates for the Master part highlighted on the Line Items grid. Blue items in the refreshed Parts grid are Suggested add-on items.
Find suggested add-on items from an Order:
- Open an existing order.
- Click on the Line Items tab.
- Highlight an order item in the Line Items grid.
- Open the Find Products tab (left) and click the Advanced Search button.
- Click the Suggested checkbox. The Parts grid will refresh and show suggested items typically purchased with the highlighted item in order of most commonly purchased to least commonly purchased with said item.
- Enter EDIT mode and click the ADD button next to a part to add it to the order.
- Click the SAVE button.

Find suggested add-on items or alternate masters from a Call:
- Open an existing call.
- Click on the Parts tab.
- Highlight an item in the Line Items grid, or use search fields to add an item to the line items grid and then highlight it.
- Click the Suggested checkbox. The Parts grid will refresh and show alternate masters for and suggested items typically purchased with the highlighted item in order of most commonly purchased to least commonly purchased with said item.
- Enter EDIT mode, highlight a part in the Parts grid and click the ADD RMA ITEM button or ADD TO ORDER button on the Parts grid.
- Click the SAVE button.
